Configure Port Forwarding

Process

  1. From the Start Button click Run
  2. Type telnet 192.168.0.1 (i.e. the IP address of the Axesstel unit) then click OK
  3. From the login screen enter the password (default is admin)
  4. Run the program sysconf2
  5. Select 4. Firewall from menu
  6. Select 3. Packet/Port Forwarding from sub menu
  7. In View mode the current settings are displayed, press enter to return to the menu
  8. Change to Set mode by pressing c
  9. Select 3. Packet/Port Forwarding
  10. The forwarding table has 10 entries that must be entered, even if you are not using all 10
    1. Enter the Source IP and press enter
    2. Enter the Source Port and press enter
    3. Enter the Desination IP and press enter
    4. Enter the Destination Port and press enter
    5. Enter 0(tcp) or 1(udp) depending on protocol required and press enter
  11. Repeat these steps for each forwarding rule. If you have no more entries just keep pressing enter until rule 10 is reached
  12. Press s to save configuration
  13. Change to View mode by pressing c
  14. Select 3. Packet/Port Forwarding to view and confirm the rules, press enter to return to the menu
  15. Press b to return to the main menu
  16. Press q to quit back to the command line
  17. Type reboot to restart the unit and enable the forwarding rules
  18. Close the Telnet window by clicking the X in the top-right corner of the window

Notes

  • Source IP = This number must be entered, but is ignored due to the dynamic IP address system used by Telecom.
  • Source Port = The incomming TCP port required, this is the port the server sends information to.
  • Desination IP = The IP address of the computer connected to the Axess.tel unit.
  • Destination Port = The TCP port to send information to on the computer, this is the port the program is expecting the server to communicate on.
